Deschutes, Hair of the Dog’s collaboration beer, Collage, hitting the market in May

(Bend, OR) – Deschutes Brewery plans to release its long-awaited collaboration with Hair of the Dog Brewing, Collage, on May 14th.

Deschutes’ Digital Marketing Manager, Jason Randles, confirmed that the beer would be sent out to most of its 20-state footprint but that a few will likely make it. Distributors are currently taking pre-orders and the beer is expected to retail around $10.99 per 12 oz. bottle (retailers ultimately set pricing so this will vary).

The May release will come more than two years after the two breweries first announced the collaboration, the first in Deschutes’ Conflux Series. The beer has aged in barrels for so long that its release was eventually passed over by Deschutes’ second collaboration, Conflux No. 2, with Boulevard Brewing.

Hair of the Dog has also been busy on the collaboration circuit having recently brewed with a beer called Flanders Fred Ale with De Proef in Belgium

The beer is a blend of two Deschutes beers, The Stoic and The Dissident, as well as two Hair of the Dog beers, Fred and Adam. All four were brewed at Deschutes’ facility in Bend in March of 2010. All four were then aged in a variety of wooden barrels for two years including Rye Whiskey, Cognac, Sherry, Pinot Noir, Bourbon, used American Oak which previously held beer, new American Oak, and new Oregon Oak.

Look for more information on this beer to surface between now and its release.
