(Everett, MA) – Night Shift Brewing announced last week that it was starting a new contract brewing partnership with Smuttynose in New Hampshire.
Over the last couple months we have seen label approvals come through (which just means that the TTB has pre-approved these beers to be produced and sold across state lines) for several beers in both pint can and keg format including: Bennington, One Hop This Time Series, Morph, Santilli, The 87 and Village Lager. Pfaffenheck has received approval for the pint can format.
More below on the new agreement as well as some other new beer news via recent email newsletter…

With a little help from our friends…
Over the past year, demand for Night Shift beer has continued to accelerate – a fact that constantly humbles us. However, we’ve completely run out of space to make more beer in Everett! So, we’re teaming up with Smuttynose Brewing in NH to temporarily solve our demand problem. This contract brewing partnership allows us to supplement our maxed-out Everett production while we assess long-term expansion options of our own. Over the next few months, we’ll be adding more accounts and expanding the NSB footprint in MA, NY, and ME.
To be clear, our brewers and lab team are heavily involved in the entire production process at Smuttynose. If it doesn’t taste like Night Shift, it doesn’t go out the door – same standards as always. We’re also learning a ton from their team and their state-of-the-art, LEED-certified Gold facility – plenty of inspiration…As the first products from this partnership start to hit shelves, we wanted to share the news with everyone.

The 87 – in stores this week!
If you didn’t make it to the brewery for a taste of The 87’s new recipe, check your local stores this week for the hookup. And in case you missed the news: we gave our house double IPA a bit of a reworking! Head Brewer Joe Mashburn says it best, but the idea was to tweak everything from hops to malts to water to yeast, in order to modernize this beer.
