More info on these below…

Jubelale

When: October – December

What:  Seasonal (12-ounce bottles and draft)

A work of art in more ways than one, Deschutes Brewery’s winter seasonal, Jubelale, is celebrating its 30th bottling this year. For the first time ever, the  packaging will feature not one piece of artwork, but a series of custom snowflake themed illustrations by Bend, Oregon artist MaryLea Harris . Each snowflake, the artist says, is “unique and full of complexity and detail” – just like the beer inside the bottle. Jubelale differs from many of Deschutes Brewery’s other beers in its malty and dried fruit character, along with the use of EKG hops which have a light herbal and spice quality.

Deschutes Hop Henge Imperial IPA BeerPulse

Hop Henge Imperial IPA

When: January  (year round, in 6-packs)

What: Bond Street Series (12-ounce bottles and draft)

For several years, Deschutes Brewery’s Hop Henge Imperial IPA has been dubbed experimental – as brewers annually redesign the beer with a different blend of hops, ingredients and techniques. It seems they’ve finally landed on a version on which we all can agree, and that’s why this beer is being added to the brewery’s year-round offerings. Featuring Chinook, Cascade, Centennial and Galaxy hops, this beer is the culmination of a long and tasty investigation of hoppy goodness.

The Stats:  8.3% ABV | 90 IBUs

Deschutes Red Chair NWPA BeerPulse

Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale (NWPA)

When:  January – April

What:  Seasonal (12-ounce bottles and draft)

A consistent national and international award-winner, this brew was named after a classic lift chair at Deschutes Brewery’s home mountain of Mt. Bachelor in Central Oregon. However, it’s not necessary to carve any turns to enjoy this beer’s subtle aromatic seduction. The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Several select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Where:  Available everywhere Deschutes is sold

The Stats:  6.2% ABV  |  60 IBUs

Release Party!

Each year, our Bend pub celebrates the arrival of Red Chair with a special visit from the big guy himself – Santa Claus. Sitting on a real red chair pilfered from a ski lift, Santa cheers adults with a toast and kids with help on their Christmas list. Stay tuned for a date and time on this event by checking the event page on our web site .

Sonoma Pride Porchata

To help support victims of the devastating fires in northern California, Deschutes brewers at the Portland, Oregon, pub have created Sonoma Pride Porchata, a milk porter spiced with cinnamon, vanilla, almond and cardamom. The beer will be released and on tap at Deschutes Brewery’s Portland pub in November, with a portion of each pint sold going to help those in need after the tragic fires in Sonoma County.

Sonoma Pride was originally conceptualized by Russian River Brewing Company in July 2015 to celebrate the bounty and greatness of Sonoma County.  Under the dire circumstances the area is facing, they have redirected use of the Sonoma Pride name to help those in need. Several leading breweries have joined the program, brewing special beers for the cause.

Black Butte Whiskey: Coming Soon!

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was this limited edition whiskey. The delicious result of a collaboration between Bendistillery and Deschutes Brewery, this malt whiskey – which has been double distilled from the wash of Black Butte Porter – will be released later this year in bottles and for purchase by the glass at both our pubs.

Black Butte Whiskey was first released in 2016 and sold out in 29 minutes. The 2017 version was aged in new #4 char American oak barrels, and the resulting liquor retains the malty, chocolatey notes of Black Butte Porter while gaining woody, earthy flavors from the oak. The body is full while the spirit drinks dry and clean. We’re practicing patience until we discover the exact release date, which we will share as soon as the experts tell us this coveted liquid is ready!
