(Hampton, NH) — Smuttynose Brewing Company’s fourth entry into the popular Canned Short Weisse Series, Blackberry Short Weisse, will be available in limited quantities to the public beginning February 27th. Available in draft or 6 pack cans, at 5.2% ABV, it’s perfect for any spring activity.

“The Short Weisse series is an opportunity to go beyond the traditional beer and fruit beer recipes, and think a bit more outside the box,” said Founder and President Peter Egleston. “The response to our Cherry, Peach, and Blueberry Short Weisse has been overwhelming, so we’re excited to offer something new.”

The beer is first brewed through a two-part fermentation process that includes both souring and German-style hefeweizen yeasts, before being aged on blackberries. The final product is a balanced fruit beer that offers an enjoyable tartness with a nuance of berry flavor. Due to its complex brewing process, Blackberry Short Weisse will be available only in limited quantities.
