[Press Release:]
(Bend, OR) – Deschutes Brewery released a comprehensive media update this week including new beer news: Swivelhead Red (March); Cultivateur (March); Hop Slice Summer Ale (April); Passionfruit IPA (May, draft only). More below…
BEERS
Swivelhead Red
When: March-August
What: Bond Street Series (12-ounce bottles and draft)
This India Style Red Ale has a signature Deschutes Brewery twist: herbal hop character from European varietals (added in American quantities), along with a light melon accent from Australian hops. While the label alone on this beer is enough to turn heads, cracking open the bottle is when the real magic happens with a distinct hop aroma and smooth caramel maltiness.

The Stats: 6.5% ABV | 70 IBUs
Cultivateur
When: March
What: Reserve Series (22-ounce wax-dipped bottles and draft)
A new Reserve Series release that’s straight from the farmhouse, our brewers have dubbed Cultivateur a “Provision Saison.” A new take on a barrel-aged classic, this brew is a blend of old and new saisons, aged in oak with brettanomyces and is the first beer to graduate from our small batch experimental Pub Reserve series. Cultivateur offers a crisp, rustic flavor profile that flaunts the rich history of saison with a modern twist.
Where: In limited quantities wherever Deschutes is sold
The Stats: 7.5 % ABV | 22 IBUs
Hop Slice Summer Ale
When: April-August
What: Seasonal (12-ounce bottles and draft)
Hop Slice Summer Ale is a fresh way to welcome back sunny, longer days. This beer invites fans to “grab a slice of summer” with floral hop notes and crisp lemon refreshment. This year, Hop Slice is brewed with Lemondrop Hops, giving it floral and citrus hop notes to complement a smooth malt character.
Where: Everywhere Deschutes is sold
The Stats: 5% ABV | 35 IBUs
Passionfruit IPA
When: May-August
What: Bond Street Series (Draft Only)
This delectable easy-drinker boasts a fruity and tropical aroma, intensified by the addition of actual passionfruit to the beer. Deschutes Brewery’s only fruited production beer, Passionfruit IPA is part of our Bond Street series – which means it started in our pubs as a grand experiment and eventually made its way into draft after our pub patrons gave it a giant thumbs up. The passionfruit, along with a quartet of hops – Cascade, Azacca, Galaxy and Vic’s Secret – gives the beer a tart, clean finish.
Where: Almost everywhere Deschutes is sold
The Stats: 6.8% ABV | 65 IBUs

Deschutes Brewery Street Pub – Crafted for Community
For the last two years, Deschutes Brewery’s Street Pub has been touring the nation raising money (nearly $850,000!) for charity. Once again in 2017, our pub of epic proportions will set up for one day only in select cities to raise money for nonprofit organizations. All the things our fans love about Street Pub are back – beer, food, music, fun – but we’ve added a few incredible partners who share our mission of giving back. We can’t wait to announce all the details in early spring, as well as the specific dates when we will land on the streets of (drumroll!): Cincinnati, OH; Roanoke, VA; Milwaukee, WI; Portland, OR; and Sacramento, CA. See you soon beer fans! For more information go to www.DeschutesBrewery.com/StreetPub or follow the conversation at #StreetPub.

2016 Community Involvement Roundup
Each year, we make it a priority to give back to the communities where we brew and sell beer. We are proud to have helped support several hundred incredible nonprofits fulfill their important missions in 2016 by donating $1 per barrel – for a total of $343,000. In addition, our traveling Street Pub initiative raised $400,000 for charitable organizations in the cities it visited. That’s a grand total of nearly $850,000 in just one year! Our nonprofit partners protect our lands and waters, help the homeless find shelter, feed the hungry, educate and protect our children, provide services for people in need and make the arts accessible for all. We’re looking forward to continuing our mission to philanthropy in 2017 with our $371,000 budget for giving, plus another Street Pub tour across the country.
