Sponsored Press Release:
Over Two Dozen Rare, Specialty Beers To Be Served From Firkins At June 18th Festival
(Houston, TX) — The Houston Firkin Fest, a celebration of unique Texas craft beer served in traditional casks (or firkins), returns to Hennessy Park in downtown Houston Saturday, June 18th, 2016.
Presented by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, the festival focuses on providing attendees with unique, rare and hard to get beers from craft breweries in Houston and across the state in an intimate festival setting.
Firkins, which serve as both maturation and serving vessels for the beers, lend themselves to balance, subtlety, and drinkability, but they also allow the brewers to get creative. Attendees can expect cask conditioned versions of their favorite brews, as well as creative concoctions infused with extra hops, fruits, spices, chocolate, coffees, teas, peppers and more.
Participating Texas craft breweries for 2016 include Real Ale Brewing Company, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Freetail Brewing Co., Deep Ellum Brewing Company, Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School, (512) Brewing Company, Cycler’s Brewing, Karbach Brewing Co., No Label Brewing Co., 8th Wonder Brewery, Lone Pint Brewery, New Republic Brewing Company, Southern Star Brewing Company, Brazos Valley Brewing Company and Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company.
“Two of the key missions of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild are to educate the public about the quality and character of Texas craft beer while also promoting that beer and our brewery members who brew it,” Charles Vallhonrat, executive director of the Texas Craft Brewer Guild, said. “The Houston Firkin Fest is a great opportunity to educate and promote, while having awesome beer. The most unique thing about the Texas Craft Brewers Guild Festival Series is that these are events produced, managed and operated by an organization of Texas craft brewers.”
In addition to the fantastic selection of firkins that will be available, new for 2016, the festival will also feature a specialty beer tapwall showcasing 10 limited release draft offerings from some of the participating breweries, giving beer aficionados even more sampling options.
