This month, our T-shirt will feature Helltown Brewing out of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Truly a labor of love, Helltown Brewing began as a small group of home brewers and is named in honor of its historic roots. During the late 1700’s the area that would later become known as Mount Pleasant, was a bustling crossroads on the route between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. With the lush farmlands and busy roadways, the area became a hotbed of whiskey production and distribution. Bootlegging and lawlessness quickly spread and as its infamy grew, the once quiet community came to be known as “Helltown”. With beer names like Purgatory, Idle Hands, Reaper’s Harvest, Perverse Stout, this brewery is anything but innocent. As the brewers at Helltown like to say, “The Devil is in the details”. A really fun concept for a brewery in such a historic area of Pennsylvania!
