Press Release:
(Charlotte, NC) – NoDa Brewing Company is pleased to announce plans to open a second production location in 2015 at 2921 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte, just one mile from its current location. The 32,000+ square foot 1939 historic building was previously home to Fleischmann’s Vinegar until 1997 and evidence of the vinegar vats can still be seen today. Renovation of the building is expected to begin in early 2015. The building is conveniently located within walking distance of two future light rails stops at 36th Street and 25th Street.
“We expect to preserve the look and feel of the 1930’s industrial design while adding modern and advanced brewing equipment,” said Todd Ford, owner of NoDa Brewing Company. “The new facility will allow us to continue to grow and serve customers throughout the Charlotte metro and neighboring communities.”
In addition to the new building, NoDa Brewing will expand its brewing operations with the purchase of a 60 bbl brew house and several 240 bbl fermentation tanks, allowing production to increase from almost 10,000 bbls in 2014 (projected) to at a minimum 20,000 bbls in its first full year of production at the new facility. Canning operations will also expand with the addition of a 30-head canning line which will produce 150-160 cans per minutes.
NoDa Brewing will keep their existing/original tap room & production facility open and begin producing specialty brews along with a barrel aging and sour beer program.
“Keeping our existing location open and changing the brewing focus will be fun & exciting, not just for our brewers and staff, but for the community,” said Suzie Ford, co-owner of NoDa Brewing Company. “We love our space and our neighbors. We couldn’t imagine leaving it behind. We decided to get creative and will brew some fun stuff on-site which will only be offered at our tap rooms.”
NoDa Brewing is also proud to announce the partnership on the building with Steve Harris of Harris Development Group, LLC. Mr. Harris is a significant developer in South End and sees the vision & possibilities of N. Tryon with the light rail system’s extension.
