Five beers from Canadian craft brewers were awarded an array of medals at three prestigious international beer competitions in June and July. These beers are all from small Canadian craft brewers which belong to the Canada’s Select Brews portfolio of beers imported into the US by 2×4 Brewing and Imports LLC.
The winners include:
Gold Medal – LA International Beer Competition to Salty Scot brewed by Parallel 49 Brewing, Vancouver BC. Salty Scot won Gold for Experimental Beers. It is a sea salted caramel Scotch Ale.
Silver Medal – LA International Beer Competition to Megadestroyer brewed by Howe Sound Brewing, Squamish, BC. Megadestroyer won Silver for Experimental beers. It is a bold liquorice flavoured imperial stout.
Silver Medal – Canadian Brewing Awards to Steamworks Pilsner, brewed by Steamworks Brewing, Vancouver BC. Steamworks won Silver for Pilsners brewed in Canada. Light and crisp a great session Pilsner.
Gold Medal – Canadian Brewing Awards to Old Boy Brown Ale, brewed by Parallel 49 Brewing, Vancouver BC. Old Boy was recognized as best in the Brown Ale category for Canada. Smooth says it all for this brown.
Silver Medal – LA International Beer Competition to Old Boy Brown Ale, brewed by Parallel 49 Brewing, Vancouver BC. Old Boy won Silver for English Style Brown Ales. Possibly the best Brown in North America!
Silver Medal – United States Open Beer Championship to Gypsy Tears Ruby Ale brewed by Parallel 49 Brewing of Vancouver BC. Gypsy Tears took the Silver for American Style Amber/Red ales. Great balance with a nice hop profile.
