Analyst survey: nearly one third of U.S. bars do not carry big three light beers
A new survey by analysts at CLSA has found that nearly seven out of ten (69%) US bars still stock a “light” beer – either Bud Light, Miller Lite, or Coors Light. However, nearly a third of venues (31%) admitted to stocking none of the three.

Interesting stuff but it has a ridiculously small sample size – 400 bars nationwide. For comparison, according to shiftgig.com, the 2012 US Census listed 1,630 bars/taverns/nightclubs in the chicago area alone!
Like I said, it’s definitely interesting but with so few bars it’s pretty meaningless for actually determining nationwide trends and drawing any serious conclusions.
@Alec Statistically seen, a sample size of about 1300 people represents the entire US.
So still pretty far off from representative of the country, though not as bad as I thought!
Very interesting stats. Not sure if that sample size is truly representative of the entire country but still interesting. The tastes of beer drinkers are changing but there will still always be a place for cheap beer because it is more about price point to many people.
