(Chicago, IL) – Half Acre Beer Co. President, Gabriel Magliaro, recently appeared on WBEZ’s Strange Brews podcast, showing the hosts around the company’s brand-new space at 2050 W. Balmoral Ave in Bowmanville.
In addition to sharing some of Half Acre’s background and philosophies, Magliaro revealed a few plans up the brewery’s sleeve.
As reported previously, the company’s offices will move from the existing spot on Lincoln Ave. to the new 60,000 square-foot facility. Also making the way over will be the company’s 60-barrel fermenters which will primarily be used for core beer production. The Bowmanville location, situated across from a senior living center, will also feature a taproom.
TThe 15-barrel and 30-barrel fermenters will stay at Lincoln Ave. which will transition to a “creative, one-off lab of sorts.” After things are moved out, plans for the current taproom are for size to essentially double and a kitchen to be added.
“There will be a restaurant,” says Maglario. Previous restaurant plans were reportedly nixed earlier this year.
Magliaro didn’t provide further details on the upcoming restaurant component quite yet, citing that “all of our mental energy has been going into the new space.”
