(San Diego County, CA) – There is a developing situation in San Diego County in which temperatures have topped 100 degrees and multiple wildfires sparked starting on Tuesday, a couple in the vicinity of breweries in the region.

California’s governor has declared a state of emergency for the county in which thousands of acres have burned, millions of dollars of damage have been caused and thousands have been displaced from homes.

The origin of the fires are being investigated for suspicious activity.

Here is the latest as it pertains to those breweries…

San Marcos / Cocos Fire

As of late Thursday morning, this fire is only 5% contained. One fire spread quickly around noon and is located only a mile south of Port Brewing Company but is fortunately separated by a large parkway. Media & Marketing Director, Adam Martinez, confirmed that the brewery is operating as usual as of early Thursday afternoon though there is concern for homes of a few employees. Director of Brewery Operations, Tomme Arthur, is among those that had to evacuate the area due to the proximity of their homes to the fire.

West of the fire, Offbeat Brewing said, “Our best wishes to our neighbors in Elfin Forest & Harmony Grove and friends at CSUSM. We hope that you, your families, pets, and homes are all safe!”

Stone Brewing Co. is a safe distance from the fires but sent out the photo shown above. The company also said, “Thinking good thoughts for our friends at @PizzaPortBeer Bressi Ranch and all others caught in or near the path of the #SanDiego fires. Wishing best to friends throughout San Diego County!!!”

Carlsbad / Poinsettia Fire

The Poinsettia fire affecting breweries in the Carlsbad region has been 60% contained as of 9am on Thursday morning.

Pizza Port Brewing Company announced on Wednesday that its Bressi Ranch and Carlsbad locations were closed until further notice and has not provided further updates on Thursday. A representative for the brewery was unable to be reached.

Arcana Brewing workers reported being unable to get home on Wednesday night due to road closures.
