BREWERY NEWS & UPDATES —
Fat Head’s Production Brewery is expanding with the addition of hop-dosing tanks and eight new 170-barrel fermentors. The new tanks will increase production to about 20,000 barrels from the 12,000 we are at now. The Tap House at Fat Head’s Brewery has also expanded their draft selection, now offering 16 rotating taps.

Head Brewmaster Matt Cole just returned from his 3rd trip to the UK where he was invited to brew Rocket Man Red Ale for JD Wetherspoon’s American Craft Brewers’ Showcase at Wadworth Brewery in Devizes, England.

Fat Head’s recently collaborated with Penn Brewery in Pittsburgh, PA on Alpha Mandarin Strong Pale, an Imperial Pale Ale with Citra hops and Mandarin oranges brewed exclusively for Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week. On the other side of the Keystone state, collaborations are in the works for Philly Beer Week with Nodding Head Brewery and Iron Hill Brewery. Follow @FatHeadsBeer on Facebook and Twitter for more!

Winner of the Fresh Hop Ale Silver Medal at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival, Fat Head’s Brewery will release Trail Head Pale Ale in cans this summer. Trail Head Pale Ale is handcrafted using Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe and Amarillo hops, geared for chillin’ out after an epic day outdoors. Head off the grid and give back good vibes — a portion of the proceeds are aimed directly at supporting the Cleveland Metroparks Trails Fund. The Trails Fund supports the rehabilitation of the Park District’s more than 270 miles of trails. Get your can off the couch and pedal, paddle, hike, climb or run to your nearest craft beer retailer for a 6-pack of Trail Head Pale Ale this summer. Availability limited to NE Ohio and Fat Head’s Pittsburgh only. Read more about how Fat Head’s supports Cleveland Metroparks on page 14 of this edition of American Trails.

In keeping with the spirit of giving back, Fat Head’s recently brewed Whole Lotta Love Pale Ale with Mosaic and Simcoe hops. Proceeds of the MS ale go toward Multiple Sclerosis research. A hopped-up American Wheat “with hand-zested citrus fruit from lemon, tangerines and clementines” aptly named Zest for Breasts will raise money for the Stefanie Spielman Fund For Breast Cancer Research. Look for these charitable brews on draft now through June with very limited availability.
