Blue Mountain Brewery signs distribution deal with Origlio in Philadelphia region

(Philadelphia, PA) – Blue Mountain Brewery, located in rural Nelson County, Virginia, has selected Origlio Beverage to distribute their portfolio of craft beers in the Philadelphia region.

Ed Friedland, Origlio’s Craft Marketing Manager said that he’s especially eager to introduce Blue Mountain’s Barrel House Series to the Southeastern Pennsylvania market. “Blue Mountain’s Barrel House Series explores even more unique styles of beer that our portfolio currently offers. For instance, their Local Species is a barrel-aged pale ale – a style you don’t typically see aged in barrels. Blue Mountain has also revived the lost art of Parti-Gyle brewing, in which a single mash is split to make two beers. This used to be a standard technique in Britain and I’m excited see Blue Mountain bring it back into practice.”

Blue Mountain Brewery was founded in 2007 by Taylor and Mandi Smack, Matt Nucci and a group of fearless shareholders. Together, they introduced the concept of the rural brewery to the East Coast’s beer scene and set the standard for great beer in Virginia. This “farm brewery” is complete with its own hop farm. Planted in 2006, it now boasts 500 hills of Cascade and Centennial hops. All of Blue Mountain’s ales and lagers are produced onsite using water from a 300-foot well fed by an old spring which flows beneath miles of untouched forest watershed. Their beers are inspired by thousands of years of tradition, but not limited by convention.

This award-winning craft brewery is a welcome addition to Origlio’s portfolio that includes some of the most respected breweries in the world. Starting on Monday, May 12th, beer drinkers in the Philadelphia-region will be able to enjoy Blue Mountain’s year-round brands, Full Nelson Pale Ale, Dark Hollow and Local Species, in addition to a variety pack and specialty releases like Mandolin and ÜberPils. The brewery’s current summer seasonal, Rockfish Wheat will also be available. This authentic Bavarian-style “Kristall Weizen” filtered wheat ale is many a beer lover’s summertime favorite.
