(Rochester, NY) – The world of craft beer was recently energized with the announcement that Three Heads Brewing has entered into a distribution relationship with Lake Beverage. This move will combine the premier craft brand from the Rochester region with the area’s largest domestic and craft wholesaler. Consumers can expect to find broader distribution of Three Heads Brewing’s offerings along with more competitive pricing.

“The craft beer industry is rapidly evolving,” says Dan Nothnagle, Three Heads Brewing President. “Without a doubt, Lake Beverage has the experience to immediately help us raise our profile in this region. We are a small, four-person operation and now we’ll have the benefit of working with over 30 salespeople in a five county area.

Lake Beverage will see an immediate benefit as well. “Having a terrific, fresh local product is very important to our customers,” says John Mula, High End brand Manager from Lake Beverage. “What separates us from others in this industry, is that we are focused on helping to build brands, not just add them to our portfolio. If you have never had a Three Heads beer, we want to ensure that you do.

Three Heads Brewing began in December 2010 as a bold endeavor by three friends and craft beer lovers – Dan Nothnagle, Todd Dirrigl and Geoff Dale. Their mission was to follow their passion and to deliver great craft beer to the Rochester Region. They currently make four year-round beers: Kind IPA, Rochestarian Wee Heavy, Loopy Oatmeal Red and Too Kind Double IPA. Their seasonal lineup has featured over 12 varieties including Java Sutra Coffee Porter, Big Head Stout and Bromigo Smoked Maple Amber. They recently celebrated their third anniversary by releasing the Tre Kind Triple IPA. Their beers can now be found in Michigan, Ohio, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, North and South Carolina and Georgia. In 2013, Three Heads Brewing had sales of over $800,000.

Lake Beverage Corporation was incorporated in February, 1947 as a privately held corporation by Mr. Richard Herr. Mr. Herr had obtained the distribution rights for Anheuser Busch in 1949 for the counties of Monroe, Wayne and Ontario. Mr. Raymond Scheible bought Lake Beverage from his brother in law, Mr. Herr, in 1965 after a great deal of success in many ventures, including a stint as the Regional Sales Manager for the Rochester Brewing Company during World War II. In January of 1974 Mr. Scheible’s son-in-law, Mr. Horst Schroeder, was brought into the business. Hank was trained in Germany as a craftsman in watch – making. Hank’s son, Bernie, worked seasonally or part time as a custodian, merchandiser, helper on a truck and Campus Sales Rep. at R.I.T. from 1974 – 1980. After working at Eastman Kodak as a Senior Industrial Engineer for 6 years and completing his M.B.A. at the U of R, Bernie joined Lake Beverage Corp. full time in 1986. In August of 1991 Lake Beverage moved its location to where it is today, at 900 John St., W. Henrietta NY. Today Hank and Bernie are Chairman and President of the Company, respectively, and they are the Company’s principal owners. The Lake Beverage teams’ Vision is to be the STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE against which all other providers of beer/beverages in our market will be measured against.
