Country Boy Brewing to celebrate second anniversary

(Lexington, KY) – With two years of brewing some of the Commonwealth’s favorite beer under its belt, Country Boy Brewing will celebrate its second anniversary the February 7th – 10th with special releases and food trucks throughout the weekend.

“When we first opened our doors, we never expected the level of acceptance we’ve received from the Lexington community,” said Country Boy co-owner Daniel Harrison. “Their support has allowed us to grow and introduce the beer we love to whole new audiences around the state and the country. It’s really exciting and I can’t wait for what year 3 has in store for us.”

Since opening their doors on a small, 30 barrel system, Country Boy has grown from producing 504 barrels of beer in 2012 to 1,744 in 2013, making the brewery one of the fastest growing in the nation. “When we opened, we decided to make beer that we wanted to drink and hoped others would enjoy it too,” said head brewer Evan Coppage.” “It’s gratifying to see everything take off like this.”

2013 saw Country Boy participate in beer festivals from Lexington to Knoxville and all the way to Chico, CA, where the brewery was selected to participate in the first ever Sierra Nevada Wet Hop Festival. In 2014, Country Boy is already slated to appear at the prestigious Savor Beer Festival, hosted annually by the Brewer’s Association in Washington, DC.

For its second anniversary celebration, Country Boy will be tapping kegs of some of their rarer and more popular beers each day at 4 PM. Friday will feature the bourbon barrel aged RX Strength Stout. Saturday, they will feature Infinite Sadness, an American strong ale. Sunday, they will tap a keg of Papaw’s Red, a red ale aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels. Finally, on Monday, they will be pouring from 1 year aged and a 2 year aged kegs of the RX Strength Stout.

There will also be food trucks at the brewery each day from 4 PM until 10 PM. Friday, the brewery will host Athenian Grill and Habanero Loko. Saturday will be Pan Jam and Rooling Oven Pizza. Sunday, it will be Habanero Loko and Monday it will be Pan Jam.

The birthday celebration will run through the Country Boy Brewing Taproom’s regular operating hours, Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th from 12:00 pm- 12:00 am, Sunday, February 9th from 1:00 pm- 10:00 pm, and Monday February 10th from 4:00 pm-10:00 pm.
