The Commons Little Brother Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Ale label

Press Release:

Portland, OR – The Commons Brewery will be releasing their next barrel aged beer on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Tasting Room.

Originally brewed as Little Brother in Mike Wright’s garage, Bourbon Little Brother is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale partially aged in fresh Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 6 months. It is then blended into a fresh batch of the Little Brother base, with the final ratio being 60% fresh / 40% barrel aged. The result is a rich malt character with an assertive, but drinkable touch of bourbon character. This beer is can be consumed now or aged for 1-2 years.

Bourbon Little Brother will be available in 750ml capped bottles at the Tasting Room and our Portland area grocery and specialty retailers.

Opened in December 2011, The Commons Brewery crafts approachable and balanced European-inspired beers. The tasting room is located at: 1810 SE 10th Avenue, Unit E (entrance on SE Stephens between 10th & 11th). Tasting room hours are Thursday 5-9pm, Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 2-9pm, and Sunday 2-6pm.
