New Belgium will release a year-round sour starting in 2014

No additional details but the year-round sour beer was the most interesting, if not the only, revelation as part of the brewery’s ‘Ask me anything’ Wednesday session on Reddit.

Having talked to Lauren Salazar in late September, it’s not a year round sour, but that in 2014, a sour will be one of each quarter’s LOF releases along with a non-sour.

They are however releasing a year round six-pack or four-pack quasi-Berliner Weisse. So in essence more of a tart not a sour. I have tasted a test batch from one of our New Belgium reps and was impressed. My only note was more lacto to which he responded “Already working on that”.
