Terrapin Beer update: Dr. Krunkles, Oaked BHM, Reunion ’13, SF & SGG, Moo-Hoo

Terrapin So Fresh 2013 Label ttb

(Athens, GA) – Terrapin Beer Company announced its Q4 releases in Wednesday’s email newsletter…

Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA
Side Project vol. 20

The legendary hop-hunter Krunkles turns up yet again, back from a tour of the Orient. His goal this time is to get experimental; his unbounded travels have earned him an honorary doctorate (“Doctor of what?”, you may ask. This would be a question to which only Krunkles knows the answer…) and he’s sequestered himself in the lab perfecting a never-before-seen formula for his beloved IPA.

Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA reaches new heights in complexity and flavor by combining the malt and spices of a Belgian Witbier, the yeast of a Farmhouse Ale, and the hoppy goodness of an American IPA. Dr. Krunkles’ twisted touch is a dash of white peppercorn followed by wood aging on white ash.

Oaked Big Hoppy Monster
Monster Beer Tour

The monster rides again! Our Oaked Big Hoppy Monster returns for the fall shift of the Monster Beer Tour. Don’t let the name of this hopped-up hotrod fool you; this substantial red ale has a monstrous malt backbone to complement the intense hoppy profile and notes of vanilla and oak.

Reunion Ale ’13: A Beer for Hope
Special Release

Beer is social. Beer brings everyone together in camaraderie and conversation, and it’s for this very reason that beer also inspires collaboration.

For the third year in a row, we’ve partnered with Shmaltz Brewing Co. to bring you Reunion: A Beer For Hope.

The Reunion Project began in 2007 to honor the life of Virginia MacLean and to benefit the Institute for Myeloma and Bone Cancer Research. Terrapin has been involved in the project since 2009.

This year’s variation brings in a local buzz: Reunion Ale ’13 is a dark ale brewed with cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa nibs/shells from Olive & Sinclair, and coffee from Athens’-own Jittery Joe’s Coffee.

So Fresh & So Green, Green
Special Release

Don’t you love it so hoppy? Freshly harvested from our tanks come special project So Fresh & So Green, Green. This brew is made with a single hop variety in its fresh, or “wet”, form–straight off the vine. Hops are harvested and immediately flown overnight to the brewery in Athens; brewing begins within 36 hours of the hops’ harvest out in the Yakima Valley. Each year we change up the hop variety… 2013 So Fresh & So Green, Green features Centennial hops from Van Horn Farms in Washington.

Moo-Hoo
Seasonal Sessions

Beer. Chocolate. Two great tastes that unexpectedly go great together! Using cocoa nibs and shells from Olive & Sinclair Co. in Nashville, Moo-Hoo satisfies both the kid within you and the grown-up you’ve become.
