Schilling Hard Cider Co. expands distribution to Eastern Washington and Idaho

Schilling Hard Cider Co. logoPress Release:

(Seattle, WA) – Coeur d’Alene-born Colin Schilling is bringing his cider home, closing the loop on his Pacific Northwest odyssey.

The Oregon-educated, now Seattle native, co-founded Schilling Cider with fellow MBA Mark Kornei last year. As their first six months of shipping product closes, Schilling Cider is now available in the greater Spokane area, including Coeur d’Alene, ID, Schilling’s birthplace.

Founded in 2012, Schilling Cider’s rapid expansion from Seattle to the Portland area, then Minnesota, and now eastern Washington and most of Idaho is a testament to the strength of the cider industry.

“Turning a hobby into a business has been a lot of fun and a lot of work, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else,” Schilling said. “Running a small business has been quite an adventure, but it’s worth it any time I get to see someone try my ciders and really get blown away.”

Kornei feels the same way. “We’re both hands-on folks and we’ve enjoyed building the business and the recipes,” he said. ”We have a little different take on cider and we keep hearing from folks that they like what we are making.”

Schilling Cider, distributed by Odom Corporation, features three flavors in 12-ounce cans — Original, Ginger, and Oak Aged — with a 22-ounce bottled, seasonal Spiced Cider and a variety of experimental, draft-only offerings.
