Godzilla creator sues NOLA Brewing for ‘Mechahopzilla’ beer
Japanese entertainment company Toho Co. Ltd. hit New Orleans Lager & Ale Brewing Co. LLC with a lawsuit in Louisiana federal court Friday, saying NOLA’s “Mechahopzilla” beer violates Toho’s copyrights for the famed Japanese monster Godzilla’s mechanized counterpart Mechagodzilla.
There is a Godzilla movie coming out in 2014 so who knows what cross-promotions Toho will be running next year but that is likely a factor in this lawsuit.
