Winter arrives October 1, at least in pint glasses and bottles! This English Ale is a throwback to the early exploration of brewing in Alaska. Captain Cook famously brewed with spruce tips in the 1700’s to keep his crew healthy while in search of the Northwest Passage. Today, we harvest the new growth each spring to find the perfect citrus notes to compliment the malty richness and crisp noble hops that make up our Winter Ale.
Before new brews head south to the Lower 48, they’re vetted at bars across Alaska as part of our experimental Rough Draft Limited series. We’re excited to introduce Alaskans to the newest member of this family, Taku River Red, November 1.
After great reception in Alaska as a Rough Draft Limited beer, Sentinel Rye Pale Ale recently graduated up to our Rough Draft Export series, available at bars across the United States.
