See UPDATE below.
(Downingtown, PA) – Victory Brewing Co. received two new label approvals over the past week, signaling new seasonal offerings in the offing.
First things first, over the weekend, a Philly bar tapped what may be the first keg of Victory’s late summer (Aug-Sep) seasonal, Festbier.
What will follow it? While there could always be a plan to take Yakima Glory into the year-round rotation (considering co-founder Bill Covaleski called it the brewery’s “most popular seasonal to date” back in 2010), it doesn’t appear to be returning as a seasonal.
Victory Winter Cheers, a winter wheat ale, received label approval and looks to be replacing it in the fall (Oct-Nov) seasonal slot.
Victory DirtWolf Double IPA, which also received approval, would then hypothetically come after Winter Cheers in December-January timeframe. We aren’t sure where that puts Old Horizontal which was released last December. Please see UPDATE.
Also coming soon is Victory Red Thunder Wine-Barrel Baltic Porter, which will be released this month. No official date announced.
The brewery did not immediately return a request for more information on these items.
Old Horizontal was put on the holding deck I believe in 2012, at least no bottles that I recall and only a very small keg output.
What is the “holding deck?” I know they put it on hiatus at the end of 2011. I have a tweet that they released it at the end of 2012 (no idea how widely).
