(Providence, RI) – Narragansett Beer owner, Mark Hellendrung, hinted on Wednesday that the company may have finally found its new brewery site in Rhode Island.
“[Along with] developers and state officials, we should have some really big news at the end of September or early October,” says Hellendrung, who also explains that they previously had an agreement on another building but that it couldn’t support the weight of equipment and beer storage.
Meanwhile Bohemian Pils will hit Rhode Island, New Haven, Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts to start and then beginning around November 1st, the beer will make its way to the rest of Connecticut, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Northern New England.
First cans rolled off of the line on August 22nd. That said, we have not yet seen TTB label approval for it, a requirement before it can cross state lines. Update: the label came through in April and we overlooked it.
This beer will be available in cans and is not to be confused with the previously released Imperial Bohemian Pilsner in the Private Stock series.
Does that mean Naragansett is going to get back to brewing its own beer at the new location?
Presumably yes. He specifically mentioned developers and state officials. That normally means a new brewery.
