Carton Boat Beer Session Ale now available in cans

Carton Boat Beer Session Ale

(Atlantic Highlands, NJ) – The latest from Carton Brewing Co.’s email blast this week…

The mission to create “a session beer dynamic enough to be interesting to a Double IPA drinker” has been fun and rewarding. Two years in, Boat Beer has been well received in our community and garnered accolades like People’s Choice in the first ever Asbury Park Beerfest and a ranking in the top 10 Session IPAs on Rate Beer, among others. The last step in our Boat mission is a can. As much as we have reveled in every Boat Beer ordered in a bar or poured from a growler, we could not consider our mission for our all day beer for IPA drinkers to be accomplished until a can of Boat could be cracked on the beach, while commuting, or at a friend’s place watching football.

As of 8/28/13, we are there.

We teamed up with Iron Horse Mobile Canning and invited them to our house to set up their line and help us cross the finish line of Boat in cans. The process went well and we plan to do it again, but in the meantime, here’s what you need to know.

Boat Beer is available for take-away purchase in 16 oz. cans in the tasting room during regular tour hours only. Thurs/Friday 5-7:30 and Sat/Sunday noon until 5pm.

The cans are $12 a 4 pack and $60 a case with a maximum of two cases per person per day.

Because of the gypsy nature of the Iron Horse relationship, cans will come and go until we are able to figure out a way to do our own canning full time– but this first batch of cans is here now and that is what matters.

Going forward, when we can we will generate about 400 cases per run.

As a courtesy, this brewery email blast list will receive notification of availability a day before it is announced on other media.

No reservations will be taken.

As always, Boat Beer will be available on draft at bars that get it in NJ, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Philly, as well as in growler fills at our tasting room.
