Tröegs Scratch update: Scottish Ale, India Session Ale, Schwartzbier, Imperial IPA

Troegs Scratch Beer Series(Hershey, PA) – A bit o’ news from Tröegs Brewing, courtesy of Monday’s email newsletter…

Our first-ever Scottish Ale, Scratch #102, was released on Wednesday, June 26 in the Tasting Room. This deep copper-colored strong ale boasts a complex malt flavor, chewy mouthfeel, and a slight hint of smoke with a mild herbal hop character. Availability: draft and growler fills only.

We’ve got a horde of new Scratch Beers and limited releases on the horizon for July, including an India-style Session Ale, a German-style Schwartzbier, a Belgian Golden Ale, and finally an Imperial IPA! We’ll also have another limited draft release of Rugged Trail Nut Brown Ale coming soon, so check our Tasting Room draft list for updates.

7/2/13 UPDATE:

“We’ve got TWO new Scratch Beer releases today. The first (Scratch #103) is a Dark Fest Lager that celebrates the complex union of the bold, robust flavors found in full-bodied ales with the crispness and drinkability of German-style lagers. The second (Scratch #104) is a Triple Golden Ale brewed with Czech Saaz hops, two types of Pilsner malts, cane sugar and a unique Belgian yeast strain. Beware its 9.1% ABV, because this puppy is stealthy! Both are limited to draft and growler fills only.”
