Trapp’s brewery finally breaks ground in Stowe, Vermont
In a March 18 article on the program, which helps foreigners obtain a U.S. visa through investing in American projects, the Journal chronicled the von Trapps’ struggles to get money for the lodge and brewery. Several issues, from an influx of projects needing funds to reports of fraud in some cases, have made some investors wary of the EB-5 program. “It’s not an easy process,” Johannes von Trapp said this week. According to the article, as of March, the von Trapps had raised $2.5 million from five investors, nowhere near their goal of $22 million in capital and 44 investors.
