(Frederick, MD) – Label approval came in this week for Flying Dog and Evolution Craft Brewing’s Natural Selection Ale: Genus Three, the final beer in the breweries’ Genus Trilogy.
You may be wondering what happened to Genus Two since we haven’t seen it yet and Genus One came out this past spring. It is still happening and will be released in October around the same time as Genus Three, as originally scheduled.
According to Flying Dog Director of Communications, Genus Two has been brewed and is now aging at Evo. That beer will be packaged in bottle-conditioned 750s. Flying Dog will package Genus Three in 12-oz. six packs. Both beers will be limited to Mid-Atlantic markets.
Label approval hasn’t come through yet for Genus Two.
Below, the label copy for Genus Three:
Natural Selection is one of the cornerstones of modern biology and now, Maryland craft beer.
The collaboration began with Genus One, a stock ale and the origin of species. Genus Two, was brewed and aged in cherry wood barrels by Evolution Craft Brewing Company. Genus Three, the final common descent and what you now hold in your hands was brewed and dry-hopped with a ground-breaking amount of Galaxy hops by Flying Dog.
In other Flying Dog news, the company just announced The Truth as the newest year-round addition to the portfolio.
Also be on the lookout for Belgian Devil soon.
