(Oklahoma City, OK) – A series of tornadoes that swept through the Greater Oklahoma City area on Friday night hit at least one brewery, causing serious damage in the process.
Mustang Brewing Company reported late Friday night that while personnel were fine, the brewery may have been hit.
On Saturday, it posted clear evidence of the damage (shown to the right) including a roof that had caved in and what looks like at least one impaled tank.
“Thanks for all the offers for help. We need to let the insurance guys do their thing, then the cleanup & rebuilding will begin,” reads a Facebook status update. “We’ll come back bigger & better than before. We got this!”
Just last week, Mustang Brewing was riding high off of national recognition that had come with its contract with the pop band, Hanson. The brewery is working with them to create a pale ale called Mmmhops.
Most other breweries in the area are located north of where the tornadoes tracked. We are still awaiting word on whether other breweries or beer businesses were impacted by the storm.
