Hanson Brothers drop Arrogant Bastard, 3 Floyds references on Adam Carolla’s podcast

mmmhops hanson beer logo(Tulsa, OK) – The Hanson Brothers appeared on Adam Carolla’s podcast this week [h/t @stevealiasa] to talk about their just-release album and forthcoming Mmmhops beer brand launch.

On the beer front, some intriguing audio came across shortly after that discussion began at the 40-minute mark when Taylor Hanson (we believe) talks about why they are not brewing hop bombs:

“A lot of craft beers- you have stuff like Arrogant Bastard and all of the Stone stuff which is really amazing stuff and you have Three Floyds and all these really intense, great beers but for some of them, it is a competition- ‘I can be more hoppy that you.’ Don’t get me wrong. It’s fun- don’t get me wrong, I love trying that stuff- but we were trying to figure out- this is our gateway drug- this is how you come into the fold and then go from there.”

Here is the 37-second clip:

Mmmhops Pale Ale is the first beer that has been unveiled but an IPA is also in the works.

Hanson hopes that beer will be available online starting in September. (If they can get direct shipping laws changed in the next two months to allow it while legislatures are closing down for the summer, we will be impressed).

Hanson also acknowledged the tornado the destroyed the brewery of its brewing partner on the Mmmhops project, Mustang Brewing. They were in the brewery a week before it happened brewing a batch which has been salvaged. They did not share any additional information on how that will impact the timeline of the project though they didn’t indicate any changes.
