(Winston-Salem, NC) – Foothills Brewing, fresh off a 72% capacity increase at their Kimwell Drive brewing facility in Winston-Salem, NC, has announced an internal promotion on the brewing staff.

Dave McClure has been promoted to the position of Brewery Supervisor. A veteran of the craft beer industry, he will oversee all aspects of the company’s main brewing operations.

McClure came to Foothills in October 2012 from Atlanta Brewing Company, where, over the course of 13 years, he worked his way up from washing kegs and working on the bottling line to become brewmaster.

“Dave ran Atlanta Brewing, so he’s used to being a leader,” said Foothills Brewing owner and brewmaster Jamie Bartholomaus. “He’s shown he can make good decisions, and certainly has the aptitude and knowledge to run our brewing floor.”

Adds head brewer T.L. Adkisson, “As our company continues to grow, we need people like Dave who can step into expanding roles and help facilitate that growth. He’s got the ability and experience we need in that role, plus he’s just a great guy.”

McClure believes his new position will play to his strengths. “I’m kind of a grunt worker at heart,” he says. “Being out there in the middle of what’s going on in the brewery is good for me. I got away from that (at Atlanta Brewing Company), and I kind of missed it. Foothills is filled with creative, fun people who love what they’re doing. I’m really looking forward to this.”
