Czech hop supply reportedly affected by flooding last week (video)

Floods in Central Europe. We’ve learned that 100-120 hectares (approx. 250-300 acres) of Czech hops are currently under water. The sun was shining Tuesday and should be again Wednesday, which will help things greatly. The biggest problem for hop growers at the moment is the threat of mildew and not being able to get into fields with tractors to spray. The season is still young, but this will certainly set back the hops a bit. However, if the hot summer that is expected ever materializes, things could still be OK for the European crop.
