Ska Brewing initiates petition against DuClaw’s registered ‘Euphoria’ mark

Ska Brewing has been making its Euphoria Pale Ale since 2005, but the latest trademark dispute involving a Colorado brewery isn’t likely to make anyone euphoric. On Tuesday, the Durango brewery filed a petition at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, asking the agency’s trial and appeal board to revoke Maryland-based DuClaw Brewing’s rights to the names Euphoria and Euforia on beers.

Update: the original article has been updated to clarify that Ska only took action after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from DuClaw first.

  1. Attys? Seriously? We got ’em (attys) but they’re ‘there’ to keep us outta trouble w/ #Adirondack Park Agency and TTB…NOT to get into pissing matches w/ other brewers, 2000 miles away over labels that will probably NEVER ‘cross’ ! Jeez Louise, guys/gals. Drop the suit, fire the attys, split the difference at the Mississippi for ‘turf’ for the (now) ™ brand names and take the legal savings and buy some ingredients, brew a collaboration beer and throw gdamn party in.Chicago this summer during the German/Polish Sausage Festival. #justsayin #ADKBREWCO
