(Chicago, IL) – The Under My Host podcast recently caught up with the guys from Pipeworks Brewing. Took some notes over the course of an hour-plus interview…
– Lost some equipment and a couple batches of beer due to a major electrical issue the day before its anniversary party at the very end of January (the building is very old). They called it Beerpocalypse.
– They will soon convert the 600 square-foot space in the front of the building to a bottle shop for to-go sales of bottles and growlers.
– Next big move is to do more barrel-aging / Basement will become a barrel room / about the only thing they can do with it since the ceiling is about 6 feet high, if that / Bourbon barrel-aging will be focus at first, then barrel-aged saison and some sours
– 10-barrel brewhouse being manufactured right now / Currently on a nano system with micro-sized tanks
