  1. Note that all those red X’s in the dry counties denote wet cities, and in every case, they are the most populous cities in the county. My off-the-cuff guess is that 80+% of the population of “moist” counties lives in or in the immediate vicinity of those wet cities. When you add in the fact that generally, dry counties have lower populations than wet counties, only a very tiny fraction of AL’s population cannot easily legally by alcohol.
