(Pacific City, OR) – Pelican Brewing Co. launched what appears to be the largest Kickstarter campaign to date for a brewery this past week. The company hopes to raise north of $100,000 to put toward a $1.3 million expansion, a tall order considering no brewery has raised more than $60k on Kickstarter.
As of Saturday night, the brewery still needed to raise more than $96k in less than four weeks. From the Kickstarter page:

We are absolutely thrilled that we have so many fans out there; however, there are a lot of people who keep asking why they can’t get our beer where they live!
You can help by backing our new production brewery in historic downtown Tillamook. The project consists of building renovations and brewing equipment totalling $1.3 million and we have raised the bulk of the funding from various sources. We need a minimum of $100,000 from our Kickstarter campaing to the basics up and running. If we can obtain $200,000 from the campaign, then we get to buy EVERYTHING we need. It’s all or nothing at Kickstarter, so show your love of Pelican and become a Backer!
