(Minneapolis, MN) – Some rather belated follow-up to a post last year regarding a dispute between Northgate Brewing and Northbound Brewpub…
Northgate posted the following note on its blog in mid-December.
—
After discussions with the owners of Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub, we have reached an amicable resolution regarding the potential confusion between the “Northgate” and “Northbound” names. Although the terms of our agreement are confidential, we can share that our face-to-face meetings with the owners of Northbound went very well, and reinforced to us Northbound’s commitment to the success and growth of local craft beer. We certainly understand and appreciate Northbound’s need to protect their brands, and apologize for any of our public statements that may have been taken out of context. It was not our intention to any way damage Northbound’s reputation, and have the utmost respect for Northbound’s owners, food and beers. We are very happy that our issues have been resolved, and look forward to joining Minnesota’s exciting beer community.

Taken “out of context?” Hmmm.
Regardless, the company received its final licensing this month and MNBeer.com has a swell report on the company’s launch into commercial beers coming up in the next week.
