(Bronx, NY) – The Bronx Brewery’s Sean McCain shared some big news on Beer Sessions Radio on Tuesday.

The company will soon sign a lease on a location in Port Morris with plans to build its own brewery. For the past year and a half, Bronx has been doing what McCain called a “co-proprietorship” where the company bought an 80-barrel fermentation tank and a 40-barrel fermentation tank, installed at Cottrell Brewing in Connecticut, and brewed on location.

The new brewery is planned to open next fall with a 20-barrel DME brewhouse and a Cask canning line.

Bronx is already releasing beer in 22 oz. bottles but is only able to bottle 20 cases at a time. With the new brewery, Bronx will add a tabletop bottle filler to up production.

The company will also expand its barrel program. Among the company’s current barrels are two 55-gallon Whistle Pig Straight Rye Whiskey barrels aging Rye Pale Ale and four 15-gallon gin barrels.
