NEW YORK BEER FEST:
On October 18th, the 2nd annual Apple, Sausage and Beer fest will be adding a new twist by saluting the Empire State and highlighting New York’s fall bounty with a specially “I love New York” themed event featuring local apples, artisanal sausages and an exclusive selection of craft beers and ciders all brewed in New York state.
The Tour de France Beer Sommelier Gianni Cavicchi (aka Beer Somm) is bringing out all the stops! During the VIP hour, the highlight is the coveted Utopias from Sam Adams. This flavorful brew is matured over 16 years in Madeira and muscatel casks and is a hard-to-obtain limited edition beer that has almost 26% alcohol – in fact, it’s banned in 10 states and costs $160 per bottle! We will also be pouring Founders Breakfast Stout. Available only from September through February, this is the coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and Sumatra and Kona coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.
There will be 11 different beers including Ommengang Harvest Ale, Bronx Brewery Rye Ale and Empire Brewery is creating a special Saison just for this event that can’t be found elsewhere! This exciting evening of food, fun and small batch brews is from 630-930pm will be held at the 404 Event Space at 404 10th Avenue (@ 33rd Street).
