Scottish brewery produces 65% ABV beer but does anyone care?
Located not far from BrewDog and perhaps desperate for publicity…
An Aberdeenshire brewery has produced the world’s strongest beer with a dizzying 65% ABV. The Banchory-based Brewmeister Brewery has entered the race to manufacture increasingly powerful alcoholic products by unveiling their controversially-titled ‘Armageddon’ drink.

Can it really be called beer after distillation? That was my hangup with the BrewDog and Schorsbrau brews.
What would Popcorn Sutton have said about such a strong beer?
Probably “Why dern’tcha jes’ make up a batch’a moonshine ‘n be dun with it?” and then he’d take a sip of his white whisky & dance a jig. At least, that’s what I’d like to imagine he’d do.
@Johnny: the Brewdog and Schorschbrau beers weren’t distilled. They underwent a freezing process widely used for icebock beers, which is totally acceptable and within the “beer” limit. On the other hand, “Start of the Future” that appeared shortly after the Bismarck was indeed distilled, that’s why it’s not a beer and didn’t make it into the Guinness records book.
dumb
First I dont think it really counts as a beer after the “freeze distillation” which I assume is the primary method they used to create the product? Still, I would like to have a bottle but not at the absurd price I am sure they will try and charge…
It is actually a form of distillation, one reason it is not legal to make in the USA. You are distilling it by freezing or jacking it, not boiling. The water is isolated and removed, rather than the alcohol.
