Stift Engelszell still several months away from ‘Trappist’ labeling decision
The monks are waiting to learn if their beer will be allowed to use the "Authentic Trappist Product" label, following an evaluation by the International Trappist Association, the holder of the trademark. A longtime association member, Engelszell Abbey is already allowed to use the label on the herbal liqueurs it has produced since 1929, but a separate authorization is required to use the trademark on the new ales. An announcement isn’t expected for several months.
