Two years ago Northern Brewer launched a new kit – Emma’s Brown Ale. 100% of the profits from sales of this kit will go to help fund pediatric cancer research and treatment at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

This week Northern Brewer contributed $3,500 to the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota in honor of  Emma German. This contribution represents the profit on the sale of the Emma’s Ale extract and all grain kits since the beginning of the year. Since this kit was introduced in 2010, we have contributed $14,000 to help children who are fighting cancer.

And who is Emma? Emma is the 5-year old daughter of Northern Brewer’s friend and vendor Chris German of Brewers Supply Group – the folks who get us most of our bulk grain. Emma German was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Neuroblastoma. With the help of the doctors at Children’s Hospital, she has gone from stage 4 cancer to being 100% cancer free.
