Harvester Brewing update: Gluten-Free IPA, Fresh Hop Pale, new brewer

harvester gluten-free ipa(Portland, OR) – Harvester Brewing issued this newsletter update on Thursday morning.

We are about to release the latest batch of our Harvester Brewing IPA with a new IPA label. Our hand stamped Experiment Ale bottles will be retired. There will still be a printed ‘stamp’ as we will be releasing seasonal/rotating IPAs, but there will be no mistaking the style on the shelf. Bottles with the new label will be rolling out over the next few weeks.

Fresh Hop Pale on the Horizon

It’s hop harvest time, which means one of the next new beers we’re excited to brew will be a variation of our IPA #1 made with fresh hops. We’ll visit Goschie Farms in Silverton, OR and load up with hop flowers fresh off the bine to be brewed with that day. For most of the year, brewers use hops that are harvested and dried. This is a once a year opportunity to use fresh hops which will impart a different and interesting flavor to the beer. We look forward to sharing it with you.

Tim’s Return

Harvester Brewing is pleased to announce that Tim Barr has joined our permanent staff. A professional brewer since the early nineties, Tim guided us through our early days as our brewing consultant. Now that we have grown, Tim is back helping us increase our production while maintaining quality. Tim is a graduate of the Siebel Institute’s diploma course in brewing technology and has worked at several breweries in Oregon and Utah. In addition to his work at Harvester, he also spends time brewing at Max’s Fanno Creek.
