What do you you want to do before the end of the world?
The makers of Shock Top asked that very question of its fans on Facebook and Twitter. One woman responded that she wanted to conquer her fear of heights by jumping off of the world’s highest bungee bridge. So, the company sent her to Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa, where she’d bungee jump off of a bridge 708 ft. up in the air. Macau Tower in China is technically ~50 ft. higher though that shouldn’t take away from her accomplishment.
The campaign plays off of two important themes for Shock Top. One is the “Live Life Unfiltered” messaging that is pervasive throughout the brand family, Shock Top being Anheuser-Busch’s line of unfiltered wheat beers. The other is the ‘End of the World’ theme. The company has yet to formally announce the beer though label approval has come through for End of the World Midnight Wheat Ale. Expect to see more ‘End of the world’ promos leading up to its mid-October release.
Wow, nice condescending tone about Macau Tower. If she wanted to jump from the highest bungee bridge, what does a tower have to do with anything?
What part of “though that shouldn’t take anything away from her accomplishment” did you not understand? If you didn’t watch the video, there are multiple references to Bloukrans being the highest commercial bungee bridge in the world…but it isn’t. Just pointing out facts. Cheers.
