New Glarus Brewing starting a hop yard
Dan is laying out a plot of Hop vines in the old German configuration. Soil preparation this summer,Build trellis this fall then planting and with any luck in a few years we will have hops! Every seed sown or plant rooted in the ground is a belief in Man’s future:)
The hopyard is located at the brewery’s Hilltop location. The “old German configuration” is a special configuration with crossed wires above and angled posts; it is stronger and more permanent.
