(Kalamazoo, MI) – Bell’s Brewery announced in Monday’s newsletter that it will be adding three wines to the General Store and Eccentric Cafe later this summer.

The three wines are: Great Northern White (White Wine), Great Northern Red (Dry Red Table Wine) and Great Northern Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine. Label approval has come through for 750ml bottles on all three as well as 375ml bottles for Blanc de Blancs.

Bell’s is working with two Michigan wineries, Circa Estate Winery (for the former two) and L. Mawby Winery (the latter) to produce the new offerings. Circa Estate is owned by Larry’s brother, David Bell, and Margaret Bell.

This past spring, Bell’s and L. Mawby squared off in a “Battle of the Bubbles” beer vs. wine event.

Some notable breweries also offer spirits including: Anchor, Dogfish Head, Ballast Point, New Holland and Ranger Creek. Much less commonly, owners of breweries like Firestone Walker also operate wine operations.

Bell’s will be the largest craft brewery in the U.S. to offer a wine label.
