cascade barrel house(Portland, OR) – The latest from Cascade Brewing‘s weekly newsletter…

[This past Tuesday’s] Tap It Tuesday Live from the Barrel series at 6pm is Spiced Red Apple. This Northwest sour style triple ale was barrel aged for 16 months in French oak. Aromas of deep, rich, red apple skins and light, sweet pepper notes are noticed up front. Sweet candy notes and apple skins on the palate lead to a light pepper and dry, sweet apple finish. A few of these just might have you bobbing for apples! 9.5% ABV, $6.50 glass.

Coming this week to the Raccoon Lodge & the Barrel House is a limited draft only product, Barrel Aged Bruin. This Northwest style sour bruin ale was barrel aged for 18 months in French oak. Aromas of dark sweet malts, oak and spices are the first to be noticed. Sweet, dark candy, port and hints of vanilla appear with each sip. Look for rich sherry, oak and dark fruit notes that linger at the end. 9% ABV, $7 Glass or $2 taster.

Strawberry and Figaro bottles are coming along nicely and will be here before you know it – however, we don’t have an exact date yet. When we do, you’ll be the first to know! Apricot is tasting amazing as well, and the bottles will be here in late June.
