avery brewing logo(Boulder, CO) – More notes from Colorado Craft Beer Radio’s 6/2 broadcast from Avery Brewing’s Sour Fest…

– A brewer from Avery Brewing came on to say that the brewery currently has around 250 barrels in its cellar and that it plans to expand that program to around 400-450 barrels when its new brewery goes online. They want to keep the program on the smaller side compared to some of the other breweries out there. The Denver Post reported that the brewery would break ground on the new facility as early as August. They have also been working on some new session beers at the brewery.

– Denver-based Strange Brewing is quietly working on an expansion of its own. The old tennant is in the process of moving out of an adjacent space into which Strange plans to grow. The brewery just installed two 8.5-barrel fermentation tanks and a 10-barrel fermentation tank in its current facility. Here are more details on the outdoor biergarten that the brewery opened last month.

– Loveland-based Grimm Brothers is planning to add tanks and expand distribution to Boulder soon. The company is also hiring a new brewer. The Griffin Hefeweizen just came out in bottles.
