(Portland, ME) – Allagash Brewing Founder, Rob Tod, was part of a recent SAVOR salon on pairing beer and cheese. The only tidbit of news that came out of the session was when Tod was talking about the brewery’s growth.
In its first year back in 1995, the company brewed 120 barrels. Ten years later, the company brewed 3,000 barrels. Fast forward seven years to now and the company is closing in on 50,000 barrels or 50% growth. The company brewed just over 33,000 barrels in 2011, according to The Brewers Association.
Allagash had to pull distribution from Texas and Washington due to uncontrollable demand in the early part of last year.
To help production along, the brewery is installing a new bottling machine.
