21st Amendment, Ninkasi Brewing to collaborate on canned oyster stout

21st Amendment Brewery logo(San Francisco, CA) – 21st Amendment Brewery Co-Founder, Shaun O’Sullivan, shared some news during a SAVOR panel last week regarding its second collaboration beer with Ninkasi Brewing.

They will brew an oyster stout. It is an oatmeal stout brewed with the shells and brine of oysters (used in the boiling process) sourced from the Bay Area’s own Hog Island Oyster Company. The beer is going to be very similar to one that they have already been selling at the 21st Amendment brewpub called Oyster Point Oyster Stout. Check out the reviews on RateBeer.

The collaboration will be released in four-packs in December or January.

The breweries first collaborated on a strong ale called Allies Win the War!, which they released right before Thanksgiving of last year.

During the panel, O’Sullivan also shared that the D.C./Baltimore market is 21st Amendment’s second best market outside of the home market of San Francisco. The company has no plans to expand distribution beyond its current sixteen-state footprint at this time.
